Boys and chooks

So the boys have been playing with the chooks, very nicely too I might add, although getting Alex to let go was harder than it was for him to pick her up........ You never know when you are being picked up if you are safe or if you are going to become dinner......

So what is the cause for all this chook frivolity?? Other than being lovely placid girls, we had our first two eggs this morning. Tiny but from here on it it might be an omlette every night!! Ha!

Christmas at the Jones's

Here is Zak jumping on the trampoline that the boys got for Christmas....

And Alex giving it a go, later he bounced around like a rabbit on it, very cute....

Opening presents, thanks for these Rachelle, the boys loved the growing dino's secretly Ash and I did too....

Alex enjoyed opening presents this year and became so good at it that he proceded to open everybody's presents all day and into the next day so that some rewrapping was required and some guess work as to whose present was whose from interstate packages....

Here is my Christmas present the girls are called Hermione, Gertie and Sue. Unfortunately there was a terrible accident just before Christmas where my dog Oscar thought that Hermione was fast food...... However after that fateful disasterous day we are planning to get a replacement chicken in the near future and keep a better eye on our dog when the chooks are out. RIP Hermione.

Other socks i have knitted

This is the second pair of socks I knitted in a variagated worsted weight acrylic yarn they will fit my size 9 feet and will be nice and warm for our trip to the Flinders Ranges in the middle of the year..

Knitting Projects I have completed

After thinking about knitting socks for the last 4 to five years I finally started in about November and have gone a bit crazy since then. I love knitting socks and am so pleased with all my results. These socks I just finished 10 minutes ago for my eldest son Zak, while we are all watching curious George together because he was jumping on my bed and cut his head open earlier this morning. After going to accident and emergency he didn't need stitches but to keep quiet for the rest of the day.... good knitting opportunity for me!!

This is the third pair of socks I knitted from a free pattern online, the wool is worsted weight and that is all I know. I bought it from Lincraft in an unlabled grab bag for $5. You can't see it from the picture but the yarn is soft and silky although I am pretty sure it is just acrylic. They worked so well and these will definitely be good bed socks and around the house socks in winter.

This is the first set of socks I knitted. I couldn't tell you what the wool is because it also came from a grab bag but it is a gorgeous variagated colour way and for a first attempt I am very happy with them.

Pics of the boys for you to see

Here are my two beautiful boys. Christmas Helpers.......
